Wrigleys ad

It was easier to be a parent in the 1920’s: all you had to do to keep your kids happy was buy them lots of Wrigley’s. Nowadays, you need to buy them a PlayStation 2 and several expensive pairs of running shoes. And even then they’ll turn on you, the ungrateful brats. But is there more to this happy Wrigley’s family than meets the eye? Look at Daddy: he’s wearing a snazzy cloth cap, he’s driving a zippy sports car, and he’s obviously got a gleam in his eye. I suspect that he’s off to meet a special lady friend across town. And what about those nights when the neighbours drop in for an evening of “bridge”? At least, that’s what they’re calling it when they chat with Reverend Smith at Sunday’s church service. Oh, it’s “bridge,” all right; last Thursday, everybody bid and made a grand slam, if you get my drift. Isn’t suburbia fun? |
