Michele Bonaglia

Toronto Daily Star, November 3 1930

Michele Bonaglia (1905-1944) has a German Wikipedia page. He was the European light-heavyweight champion from February 1929 to February 1930, at which point he gave up his title. He became the Italian heavyweight champion for a little over two months in 1932.

Bonaglia appears to have fought in the United States only briefly. In 1931, he fought twice in Providence and once in Boston, losing all three times. His last professional bout was in 1934.

When war broke out, Bonaglia enlisted in the Italian Fascist army. When Italy was occupied by the Germans in 1943, he joined the Italian Social Republic, which was a German puppet state that continued to prop up Benito Mussolini. Partisans killed Bonaglia in 1944.
