Mimi Crawford

Toronto Daily Star, March 14 1934

Mimi Crawford (1897-1966) was born Minnie Mabel Forde Pigott in Chicago. She did indeed marry the 20th Earl of Suffolk. The Earl had a short but heroic life: during the Second World War, he rescued the world's entire supply of heavy water from France before it fell and then worked as a bomb defuser in London. He successfully defused 34 bombs before his luck ran out on May 12 1941.
