Jack Dunfee (1901-1975) had recently lost his younger brother, Clive, to a racing accident. In September 1932, the two brothers were racing in a 500-mile event; shortly after Jack finished a leg of the race and handed the car over to his brother, the car crashed in spectacular fashion, killing Clive instantly. After his racing career, the elder Dunfee became a theatre impresario and a farmer.
Benita Hume (1907-1967) appeared in a number of movies in Britain between 1925 and when she moved to California. She appeared in movies throughout the 1930s in Hollywood.
Dunfee and Ms. Hume never married - at least, they never married each other. She married actor Ronald Colman in 1938; after he passed away in 1958, she married British actor George Sanders. Dunfee married Audrey White, who was 26 years his junior, in 1953, but the marriage ended in divorce.
