Molly Gourlay (1898-1990) won the French Open in 1923 and 1929 as well as in 1928. She also won the English Ladies' Amateur Championship in 1926 and 1929. She then spent many years playing and serving as an administrator for golf in her home county of Surrey, as well as working as a golf course architect. She was eventually honoured with an OBE.
The Golf Chronicle website has some preserved articles that she wrote on golf, including What Are Good Holes?, which she wrote in 1938. The National Portrait Gallery website has this photo of her from 1939.
