Rex LeLacheur
Toronto Daily Star, November 15 1937

Rex LeLacheur (1910-1984) moved to Ottawa in the 1940s. After a period of time as an insurance agent, he embarked on a full-time music career in 1951, working as a music teacher, choir conductor, and composer.
He has left behind a reasonably large Internet footprint. A search turned up:
- An entry in the French version of the Canadian Encyclopedia
- His Find a Grave entry
- His television credit: in 1957, he appeared in one episode of the CBC TV series Folio
- A Canadian government archives record of stored materials (textual records and audio cassettes)
- In 1967, he released a single, "Centennial Hymn" (backed with "Interfaith Hymn of Praise")
The 1937 Toronto city directory lists him: he was working as a salesman and living in Leaside.
Created October 7, 2025.
