Argue Martin

Toronto Daily Star, June 7 1951

Is there a better name for a lawyer than Argue? Actually, it was even better than that: he was D'Arcy Argue Counsell Martin (1898-1992). With that set of given names, his choice of profession was inevitable.

Mr. Martin was involved in politics in Hamilton in the 1930s. He served on Hamilton city council from 1927 to 1931, and then was a Conservative MPP from 1931 to 1934, representing Hamilton West. He became a King's Counsel in 1931.

Created September 23, 2025.
