Aleene McFarland

The Esoteric Curiosa blog has a collection of articles on the marriage of Aleene McFarland and Prince Johannes Baptist Alois Ferdinand Lucas Anton Joseph Maria of Liechtenstein (to use the name that Wikipedia gives him). She was the daughter of a cattle king who might well have owned ranches larger than Liechtenstein; the principality is 162 square kilometres in size.
The two eventually divorced in 1943; as part of the divorce settlement, the prince received $875, a light truck, and the crown silverware of Liechtenstein. Undaunted, he married another American woman, Jean Ann French of Des Moines, Iowa, in 1945.
The former Princess Aleene, who kept her married name, passed away in 1983.
