George Agnew Reid

George Agnew Reid (1860-1947) was the principal of the Ontario College of Art from its founding in 1912 to 1929. Besides being commissioned to paint murals for Jarvis Collegiate, he also painted murals for the Toronto City Hall, the Toronto Municipal Buildings, and the Royal Ontario Museum. He won a gold medal at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair for a painting titled Foreclosure of the Mortgage.

As of 2016, the murals in the Jarvis Collegiate auditorium were still there.
