Jewel Toups

The wire service that sent out the photographs that appeared in the Toronto Daily Star's daily photo page wasn't always accurate when giving names, but it turns out that the woman in the photograph was actually named Jewel Freie Toups ("Freie" was her maiden name).
A search turned up:
- An article in a New Orleans culture website that referenced a friend of her and her husband's.
- Photos of her from 1958 (when she was the Director of Civil Defense for New Orleans), 1976, and 1979.
- An ancestry website that listed her as passing away in 1990 at the age of 82.
