Marion Claire Weber

Toronto Daily Star, December 5 1932

Marion Claire Weber (1902-1986) started her musical career as a violinist at the age of 10. Deciding to become an opera star, she studied in Italy and began performing there and in France and Germany. She and Henry Weber were engaged ten days after they first met and were married in 1929.

Henry Weber was hired to conduct the Chicago Civic Opera Orchestra at the age of 23. In 1929, after the Webers married, he became a conductor in Florence, Italy.

Mr. Weber joined the staff of radio station WGN in 1934 and produced the Chicago Theatre of the Air show; Ms. Weber performed regularly on this broadcast. After she passed away in 1986, he married another Marion: Marion Schroeder Levitt, who also performed regularly on WGN. He passed away in 1991.

I found a photograph of the couple marrying in 1929.
