This feels more like a mid-1960s pop song than something from 1973. I wasn't able to finish listening to it and I am not sure why.
Abraham's Children were from Toronto and formed in the late 1960s. They were previously known as Just Us and Captain Midnite's Dirty Feet.
The band released several singles that got airplay in Canada but only "Gypsy" was played in Toronto. It reached #5 nationally. Later on, they evolved towards a harder-edged sound, underwent personnel changes, and changed their name to The Children before disbanding in 1976.
Their original lineup reformed in 2000 and they produced a compilation album in 2004, titled 30, that contained old and new material. The Museum of Canadian Music website has a biography of them.
