This song sounds like it belongs on the soundtrack for a porn movie. This is not exceptionally surprising, as Andrea True (1943-2011), born Andrea Truden, was an adult film actress before she reached the charts as a singer.
"More More More" came into existence for legal reasons: Ms. True had been hired to do commercials in Jamaica but couldn't take the money she earned from them out of the country, due to a ban on asset transfers. She spent the money in Jamaica by recording the song. The expense was well worth it, as the song reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, #5 in Britain, and #1 in Canada.
The success of the song enabled Ms. True to leave the adult film industry. She toured behind the song and performed in nightclubs until she lost her voice due to a growth on her vocal cords. In later life, she worked as a substance abuse counsellor and an astrologer. She was able to live off of the royalties from her hit song until she passed away from heart failure in 2011.
By the way, I didn't know until today that Len's "Steal My Sunshine" sampled the instrumental break from "More More More". Live and learn!
