The Casuals - So Tough

March 1958 - Weeks On Chart: 10 - Highest Position: 12

This has a bouncy oom-pah beat and entertaining harmonies, but nontheless I could not finish it. Oh well.

The Casuals were later known as The Original Casuals. They were a three-man doo-wop group from Dallas, Texas. Their version of "So Tough" reached #42 on the Billboard Hot 100.

A competing version of "So Tough" was recorded by the Kuf-Linx at about the same time. It reached #76 on the Hot 100 and didn't get airplay in Toronto; in my opinion, the Casuals' version is much better.

The Original Casuals released two singles in 1958 without further success. One of the group's members, Paul Kearney, accidentally shot and killed himself in 1960. The Original Casuals are no relation to The Casuals, a British pop group from the 1960s and 1970s.
