Florraine Darlin - Johnny Loves Me

August 1964 - Weeks On Chart: 8 - Highest Position: 14

I didn't manage to listen to all of this song - the spelling of the letters didn't do much for me - but I did notice that it includes a reference to Johnny Whoop, a children's hand game.

Florraine Darlin, whose birth name was Florraine Panza, was from Pittsburgh. She reached #64 on the Billboard Top 100 chart in 1962 with "Long As The Rose Is Red", an answer song to Bobby Vinton's "Roses Are Red". "Johnny Loves Me" didn't reach the Billboard 100 chart.

At about this time, Ms. Darlin left the music business. She passed away in 2025 at the age of 84.
