"My Boyfriend Got A Beatle Haircut" didn't do well in the US, reaching only #83 on the Billboard chart. However, there is a German version of the song, which proved that, by this time, Beatlemania was a worldwide phenomenon. There is also a French song called "La cloche" that uses the same melody but with different lyrics.
This song reminds me a bit of Diane Renay's "Navy Blue", which charted at about the same time. And, sure enough, Donna Lynn covered "Navy Blue" herself. (Diane Renay charted twice in Toronto, so she is not eligible for this website.)
Donna Lynn was 14 years old when this song started getting airplay in Toronto. She was Canadian and her real name was Camille Donna Albano. She apparently had an extensive career as a juvenile actress before becoming a singer, though I can't find a record of it anywhere. The latest trace of her that I could find was that she apparently released a single in 1967 called "Don't You Dare", which appears to be an attempt to reproduce the girl-group sound of the early 1960s. After that, I found nothing.
