Dora Hall - Hello Faithless

April 1963 - Weeks On Chart: 2 - Highest Position: 43

Dora Hall was the stage name of Dorothy Donahoe Hulseman (1900-1988), who was the wife of Leo Hulseman, the head of the Solo Cup Company, which manufactured disposable paper cups. Ms. Hall had reportedly worked in vaudeville before marrying Mr. Hulseman in 1926. In the 1960s, she returned to show business with help from her husband, who recorded her songs on his own record labels and created television shows in which she was the star. Her recordings were included free with Solo Cup purchases.

"Hello Faithless" was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, a husband-and-wife songwriting team who wrote many hit songs for the Everly Brothers. In my opinion, Ms. Hall's recording isn't screechingly awful, but I saw no reason to continue listening to it after about a minute or so.
