I had heard this a long time ago but not for many years. It reminded me a bit of the Walker Brothers but less melodramatic.
Bob Lind has had a long career as a singer-songwriter, playwright, and novelist. "Elusive Butterfly" was his only hit, reaching #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, the UK singles chart, and the CHUM chart. He released several other singles after that without noticeable success, though he did make it to #64 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Remember the Rain".
After this, he dropped out of the music business for a period of time and moved to Florida. He wrote five novels, a play, and a screenplay. He also worked as a writer at the Weekly World News and Sun tabloids.
In the 21st century, Lind returned to music and also saw some of his plays performed on stages in Florida and Europe. He is still alive and continuing to do creative work as I write this; he turns 84 in November.
