Everybody involved in this song seems to be having a good time. That's not a bad thing.
The Cinnamon Cinder was a Southern California nightclub chain in the 1960s; The Pastel Six were the house band at their Orange County location. "The Cinnamon Cinder" (it's a very nice dance!) reached #25 on the Billboard Hot 100.
There were apparently actually seven members of The Pastel Six, so either they added somebody along the way or they had difficulty with counting. Their followup single, "Wimo Stomp", was an instrumental variation on "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". It didn't chart, which I think is too bad, as I found it rather catchy. The band continued releasing singles until 1965, after which they disappeared into the mists of history.
