This song has a 2/4 beat and starts off sounding like the Isley Brothers' "Shout" before venturing into more standard girl-group territory. It's also got a funky sax solo. I found it interesting enough to listen to once but I'm not sure I would want to listen to it often.
The Percells were from Long Island. "What Are Boys Made Of" was more popular in Toronto than it was in most places, as it only reached #53 on the Billboard Hot 100. They released three followup singles without success.
The Spectro Pop Express website has a detailed biography of The Percells and their producers; I'm not sure when it was last updated.
