This is another example of 1970-era soul. It sounds a bit like the Four Tops and the Temptations but seems a bit repetitive to me. It's more smooth and soulful than some of its peers, though.
The Presidents were from Washington, D.C. "5-10-15-20" was their only hit, reaching #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. It did better in Toronto than elsewhere in Canada, as nationally it reached #43.
The Presidents released some other singles in 1970 and 1971 that went nowhere. They then tried changing their name to Trilogy and then Anacostia but that didn't work out either. They released singles up until 1980, so it wasn't for lack of trying.
