This is classic late 1960s psychedelic rock, complete with organ and everything.
Southwest F.O.B. were from Dallas, Texas. ("F.O.B." apparently stands for "Freight On Board".) "Smell of Incense" was originally recorded by The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band earlier in 1968. This version doesn't feature any organ but is still psychedelic and all that; it reached #56 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Southwest F.O.B. version did a little better, reaching #43.
Southwest F.O.B. featured Dan Seals and John Colley, who later formed an acoustic duo on their own. Eventually renaming themselves England Dan and John Ford Coley, they achieved significant success in the late 1970s with earnest songs about relationships. Seals passed away from mantle cell lymphoma in 2009.
