This is a pleasant enough instrumental workout with some vocals in the background. I don't think I will have a need to listen to it repeatedly, though.
The T-Bones were actually session musicians based in Los Angeles that were eventually known (though not at the time) as The Wrecking Crew. Various of these musicians produced several albums between 1964 and 1966.
"No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach's In)" was based on the soundtrack to an Alka-Seltzer commercial (since YouTube has almost everything these days, it has this commercial too). It reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is a lot better than it did in Toronto - presumably, the ad was aired more often in the United States (or people had more upset stomachs there).
When this song hit the charts, a group of musicians was recruited to tour as the T-Bones, since the people who recorded it were doing too well as session players to want to leave Los Angeles. The touring T-Bones recorded the band's final album, Everyone's Gone To The Moon (And Other Trips), in 1966. Three of these T-Bones, Dan Hamilton, Joe Frank Carollo, and Tommy Reynolds, later became Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, who charted several times in the early and mid-1970s.
