The Toy Dolls - Little Tin Soldier

December 1962 - Weeks On Chart: 6 - Highest Position: 16

To me, this song seems wistful and innocent. I found it charming, though I'm not sure I would want to listen to it multiple times.

The Toy Dolls appear to have left no internet footprint behind them whatsoever. All I could find out was that "Little Tin Soldier" didn't reach the Billboard chart and that it was co-written by Fred Darian, who has an entry of his own on this website. A Wikipedia search revealed that there was an English punk rock band with the same name, but that's not useful information.

Fred Darian, in his writing career, often wrote songs about soldiers and military battles. I'm thinking that it must have been a pleasant break for him to write about children's toys for a change.
