This instrumental piece is so typically 1970s that if I were writing a movie that was set in 1974, I would want to license this for the soundtrack. It's a cross between disco and easy listening.
The Love Unlimited Orchestra was a 40-piece band formed by Barry White to serve as his backup band. "Love's Theme" was written by White; it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over a million copies.
The band also provided the music for White's trio of backing singers, Love Unlimited. They continued recording and releasing albums and singles until 1983.
