This song very closely resembles The Contours' "Do You Love Me" but isn't as good.
There were a lot of songs about dances in the early 1960s; I'd never heard of The Push and Kick. A search turned up references to the Kick Push line dance but I have no idea if this is the same thing.
Mark Valentino (1942-2021) was born Anthony Busillo in Philadelphia. (The CHUM Chart Book, my source for these entries, lists him as "Mark Valentine".) He didn't leave much of an internet footprint: all I know is that he released one album in 1962 and some singles between 1962 and 1964. "The Push And Kick" reached #27 on the Billboard Hot 100; I think that was it for him.
