This is one of a number of one-hit wonders from the early 1970s that feature British singer Tony Burrows. The others are White Plains, Brotherhood of Man, and The First Class. They all pretty much sound the same: catchy early 1970s-style pop.
Edison Lighthouse were originally known as Greenfield Hammer before renaming themselves after Eddystone Lighthouse, which is a lighthouse near Cornwall in England. "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" reached #1 in the UK and #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Burrows was the lead singer on this but left the band shortly afterwards.
After Burrows's departure, Edison Lighthouse reconstituted itself with new musicians and released some other singles, with limited success. In 1974, singer Brian Huggins acquired the rights to the Edison Lighthouse name and has been touring with or as them ever since.
